Festivals & Events

For a small town, Historic Boyertown has a lot going on! At least one a month, there’s something cool going on in Historic Boyertown. Keep checking the Historic Boyertown website and events calendar, where you’ll discover that music, food and drink hold primary positions in our town’s event life. Pickfest: A Music/Art and Agricultural Crawl with multiple entertainment stages, occurs each fall. Italfest, a summer event, features vegan and multicultural fare, accompanied with a world music beat.  Oktoberfest adds brews, wines and Pennsylvania German traditions to the mix. Cruise Night and Duryea Days feature our automobile heritage. Family focused events include Chillin’ On Main, Coming out of Hibernation, and Dog Days. Local cuisine shines at the Great Frecon Peach Jubilee produced by Frecon Farms and The Truck Stops Here, where food trucks galore pull up with the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles. The Philadelphia Avenue Street Fair is just one big celebration up and down our main street.
When there’s not a major event going on, there’s always events being held by our local partners; Doc’s Irish Pub, The Other Farmand Forge, Funky Frets, the Colebrookdale Railroad runs special trains, music at Landhaven Bed and Breakfast, the State Theater, and Frecon Farms.

The Great Frecon Peach Jubilee!

Every summer when the peaches come in, 40,000 pounds of them in fact, Frecon Farms in Boyertown, hosts a week-long culinary celebration of the peach – featuring everything peaches – peach cider donuts, peach cobbler, peach pies, peach slushies, peach scones, peach tarts, peach cinnamon buns, peach sausage, and bacon wrapped peaches, along with daily discounts and specials.
This year’s event from August 5 to 10, culminates in their traditional day long peach sale, give-aways, cooking classes and demonstrations, UPick fruit, and special children’s programs, and the whole menu of everything peach available for purchase at the Frecon Market.
Swing by to grab some fresh peaches to make one of Steve Frecon’s favorite peach recipes!
Frecon’s Cinnamon-Grilled PeachesMakes 4 servings
4 large ripe freestone peaches8 3-inch cinnamon sticks8 fresh mint leaves4 tablespoons unsalted butter¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar¼ cup dark rum½ teaspoon ground cinnamonPinch of saltPeach or vanilla ice cream for serving
Rinse the peaches and blot dry with paper towels. Cut each peach in half and discard the pit. Cut each peach into quarters. Using a pointed chopstick or skewer, make a starter hole in the center of each peach quarter, working from the pit side to the skin side. Skewer 2 peach quarters on each cinnamon stick, placing a mint leaf between the 2 peach quarters. Combine the butter, brown sugar, rum, cinnamon and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat to make the glaze. Let the mixture boil until it is thick and syrupy, about 5 minutes.
Preheat the grill to high and oil the grate. Place the skewered peaches on the hot grate and grill until nicely browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side. As they are cooking, baste with the glaze. Spoon any remaining glaze over the grilled peaches and serve at once, along with peach or vanilla ice cream.

‘Ital’ is a Rastafarian philosophy based on unity with nature and increasing your ‘vital energy’ by eating whole, low processed foods from the earth. Ingrained in this mentality is a deep respect for all living things, and keeping unhealthy elements out of your body.‘ItalFest’ is a multi-cultural event that will celebrate these ideas with world music, plant based food vendors, craft beer, cider, and wine, holistic/eco friendly vendors, and community.
We welcome everyone to this inclusive, positive, family friendly event, held in the scenic Colebrookdale Railroad yard.
