Genuine Italian antiques, restored with love and care, and a eclectic mix of unique pieces of history? Everyone will find something full of incredible history to cherish in their home!
Leggio’s Antiques, now run by three generations of the Leggio family, began almost as an afterthought. His life changed completely when Carmelo Leggio, who also owns Carmelo’s Pizza in Historic Boyertown and several other restaurants, purchased “a chair in a bag.” The bag contained the remnants of a Victorian chair that had fallen to pieces. He also bought an oak highboy that had come completely apart. Using the craft with wood he had developed as a child in his home country of Sicily, Carmelo restored both pieces to magnificence. Soon, he and the family began collecting and restoring antiques. As the business grew, they moved several times, landing finally in Barto, in a 24,000 square showroom where you can browse at your leisure. Many of the pieces on display come still come from Italy, others are lovingly restored, and still others are custom built from components collected at estate and antique sales. If you want something crafted specifically for your needs, Leggio’s will do so, handcrafting it with great skill and care.
